I have been concerned over the last few months that as a church we were becoming self-centered and focused on ourselves. I think in the current American church environment it is easier to love ourselves and serve ourselves and spend time with ourselves than it is to love those outside the safe and beautiful walls of our churches.
Thanks to the men and women of our church who gave of themselves this week so unselfishly to Mega Sports Camp. This event drew a mixture of church kids and unchurched kids from the neighborhood. What a joy it was last night to see the building full of kids and parents singing and being a part of our church. (the body of Christ) Here's a look at what I saw. Fat Christians say…
“Why don’t you have this ministry at your church?”
Fit Christians say…
“Can I start a group that does this kind of ministry? Maybe there are other people who would like to join…”
Fat Christians…
…sit in the same pew each week, and rarely venture out of their circle of friends.
Fit Christians…
…find opportunities to change things up, and try to involve those on the outskirts.
Fat Christians focus…
…on how to better themselves.
Fit Christians focus…
…on those who don’t know Jesus.
Fat Christians do…
…what’s easy and safe.
Fit Christians do…
…what’s difficult and counterintuitive.
Fat Christians think…
…it’s all about them.
Fit Christians know…
…it’s all about HIM.
